2face Idibia celebrates birthday in Jos(PHOTOS)

Surprise was the emotion felt by most people when pictures of 2face’s birthday celebration were released and the music star himself was notably absent.
It turns out that the “Rainbow” singer didn’t attend the event organized by his wife, Annie, because he had to be in Jos on a peace tour.
’2baba’ celebrated his birthday with a number of little children and had his very own customized cake.

Governor Fashola launches residents’ registration in Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola  yesterday called on the people of the state to support the move by the state government to ensure the success of the residents’ registration exercise  in the state. The governor made the appeal while launching the exercise in Ikeja.
Fashola explained further that the program would enable the government to generate reliable data for planning and development for the welfare of the state and its citizens.
He reportedly said that the exercise was not for tax purposes but to enlarge access of residents to government services.
Fashola said:
“The official flagging off of this exercise is a watershed in the state’s history as it is a most important step taken by the state government toward service delivery.
“If you imagine a Lagos where all communities have enough schools with the right and enough facilities to educate our children; “If you imagine a Lagos where you have enough hospitals with all the facilities to treat the sick and a state where you have a 24-hour electricity supply; “If you can imagine a Lagos where you open your taps and water flows at all times, then you will understand why we are embarking on this exercise. “It is to enable us have a reliable database of all residents so that we can plan better and increase access to government services.”
Fashola said that the registration was meant for residents, irrespective of their ethnic background.
He said that anybody who had lived in the state for at least six months was eligible to be captured.
The governor said that indigenes of the state who had relocated elsewhere would not be captured as they no longer fell under the direct responsibility of the state government.
He said that the residents would be issued permanent identification cards upon registration to enable them to access services in hospitals, schools and other public institutions.
The governor appealed to community and opinion leaders to help mobilise the people in their areas for the exercise. He urged all residents to turn out en-masse to be captured.
The project is being implemented by the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, established by the Lagos State Residents Registration Law of 2011.
Giving more details on the exercise, Olayinka Fashola, the General Manager, LASSRA, said residents could register directly at the centres or do so on the internet.
She, however, stressed that those who chose to put their personal data on www.lagosresidents.gov.ng would still need to visit the designated centres to get their biometric information captured. She said that residents below the age of 16 would not be issued permanent identity cards upon registration till they attained the age.
Olayinka said that mobile centres had been created to guarantee access for the old and the weak and also to address any issue that might arise from the registration.
The general manager said that no fewer than 1,455 residents had been engaged to conduct the exercise, saying that the registration had created job opportunities for the people.
The Commissioner for Science and Technology, Adebiyi Mabadeje, urged residents to see the exercise as their project by volunteering information to LASSRA officials.

Devastated Michael Jordan asks Magic Johnson for advice on dealing with lesbian daughter

Michael Jordan is having a hard time dealing with the fact that his only daughter, Jasmine Jordan, might be a lesbian. According to The National Enquirer, Jordan asked Earvin “Magic” Johnson for advice after Jasmine revealed what side of the closet door she stood on in a series of posts on Instagram.com. Magic reportedly advised Jordan to “just love her and to let her know that she owes it to herself to be 100 percent genuine and to live her life to the fullest.”
Both sports legends have children who are homosexual. Magic’s cross dressing son, EJ Johnson, came screaming out of the closet earlier this year. Jordan is reportedly impressed with Magic’s handling of the personal crisis that hit his family when EJ hit the streets wearing spandex and boa feathers.

“Michael is having mixed emotions that his only daughter could be gay,” an insider revealed. “Michael loves all of his kids unconditionally, but he was shocked to find out about Jasmine. He never saw it coming.“Michael and (his ex-wife) Juanita are both at a loss, and they’re concerned about how this will affect Jasmine’s future.”A junior at Syracuse University, Jasmine recently posted pictures of herself and Carmen Tyson-Thom¬as, a former Syracuse basketball player rumored to be her girlfriend, on Instagram, saying: “This little closet is holding me back.”
The former Chicago Bull, 50, also has two grown sons from his marriage to Juanita. But Michael, who wed model Yvette Prieto in April, admitted to Magic that he had always looked forward to walking Jasmine down the aisle one day and to seeing her have children. “Magic told him all of those things can still happen for Jasmine,” the insider added. “It just might not be with a man.”

Beyonce and Jay Z Fired Bodyguard After He Solicited a Prostitute While On Duty

The celebrity bodyguard who was tasered to death by Miami police was fired by Beyonce and Jay Z after they caught him soliciting a prostitute, the NY Daily News reports.
Norman “Dutch Giant” Oosterbroek who protected A-list stars such as Lady Gaga was tasered to death by Miami-Dade County police on Sept. 2 after he stripped naked and broke into a neighbor’s home. Police believe Oosterbrook was high on bath salts at the time of his death.
According to the NY Daily News, a “major print publication” approached Beyonce and Jay Z last year with evidence of their bodyguard’s freaky sexcapades, but the power couple allegedly made a deal the publication to bury the story.

Oosterbroek’s life spiraled out of control in the past months after he lost his job looking out for Jay, Bey and their daughter, Blue Ivy. It all fell apart after the power couple discovered the hulking guard had hired the services of a prostitute while on duty for them in Las Vegas, a source tells us.The duo also allegedly discovered photographic and video evidence showing Oosterbroek using the family’s passports in a lewd act. The story was first uncovered by a major print publication last year, which approached Jay Z and Beyoncé for comment. The couple then made a deal to ensure the story never saw the light of day, according to our source.“Beyoncé and Jay Z were furious when they found out,” said the source. “They trusted Norman with their lives and then he went and did some pretty freaky things, and on video with a hooker. They were outraged.”

File-photo-used-as-illustration-240x336
A 13-year old girl has narrated how her biological father, Stephen Chimaraobi, and his friend, Paul Oha, raped her for seven years in their Ojodu home in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Following her revelation, the police at Grammar School Division, Ojodu, arrested her father and his friend.
Chimaraobi from Delta State has remained single after his wife left him, while Oha from Mbaise in Imo State, is married and has two kids.
The victim revealed that her 42-year old father and his friend started defiling her when she was six years old and continued till she became 13 without each of them knowing until she reported the matter to the police.
She said she did not know the damage they were doing to her until now that she became an emotional wreck.
The traumatized victim told the police that her mother left her in the care of his father at their home in Yetunde Morgan Estate, Ojodu, when she was six years old.
She said her father did not re-marry after her mother left him and he took advantage of her mother’s absence to rape her repeatedly.
The little girl said she was helpless because her father warned her not to tell anyone otherwise he would kill her.
She said while her father was defiling her, his friend, Oha, who lives with his wife and two children in the same estate, joined in sexually assaulting her.
She told the police that Oha usually comes to their house at odd time when her father had gone to work to have sex with her.
She said after that, he would warn her not to tell anyone about it, including her father.
“My father’s friend after abusing me, will ask me not to tell my father, not knowing that my father was also abusing me,” she told the police.
The victim who has started learning hair dressing, said she went to the police to report the matter when the trauma became unbearable.
When P.M.NEWS visited Chimaraobi’s residence, his neighbours confirmed the incident.
On the allegation by the victim, the neighbours said they were not surprised because there has been rumours like that and nobody was courageous enough to confront Chimaraobi or inform the police.
They condemned the act and said the police should ensure that the victim get justice.
They also said they knew Oha as his friend who usually visited the girl and her father and said they did not know his visit was to defile the little girl.
At Oha’s residence within the estate, his wife expressed shock over the matter.
She said all she knew was there was a time Chimaraobi asked them to keep the girl in their house when he went to work outside Lagos. At the station where the suspects were detained, the Divisional Police Officer, D. P. O. Uduak Udoh said that the victim came to the station to report that her father and his friend abused her.
He said the police have since started investigation on the matter and if our reporter needed any information, he should go to the PPRO.
Police sources told P.M.NEWS that the mother of the victim and the relations of Chimaraobi have been invited as part of the investigation to authenticate the girl’s allegation.
Chimaraobi told P.M.NEWS that he did not rape the victim as she claimed and said his daughter fabricated the allegation so that she will go back to her mother.
He said he married her mother and when the victim was six years, she abandoned him and the girl and left.
Chimaraobi said that since his estranged wife left, he has been taking care of the girl and she has just finished her JSS3, while her mother has been battling him to take the girl away.
He also said he did not know his friend, Oha, was sleeping with her until she said so at the police station.
The two men were charged with defilement and rape at the Family Court in Ikeja, yesterday. The matter was adjourned till 6 November while the suspects were remanded in Kirikiri Prisons.

SSS Foils Kidnap Of Late President Yar’Adua’s Daughter

image
The State Security Service (SSS) on Thursday paraded two suspects alleged to have plotted the abduction of one of the daughters of late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
According to SSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, the suspects, Hamza Abubakar (27) and Dennis Okoro (43) on August 21 attempted to abduct the unnamed daughter of the late president at a construction site at Kado, Abuja, said to be owned by the lady.
Ogar said having cultivated the friendship of a security guard at the construction site, Abubakar co-opted Okoro and other accomplices to carry out the operation but the attempt was foiled in the nick of time.
Similarly, one Nicholas Eze was also paraded for document counterfeiting and extortion of various sums of money from five illegible candidates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for whom he succeeded in securing postings for national service in different states.
Eze collected a total sum of N530, 000 from his five female undergraduate “clients”, with which he produced call up letters and other documents that enabled them enlist at the NYSC.
The female undergraduates claimed to be students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and they enlisted the services of Eze to enable them join other qualified graduates for the compulsory national service.

Ibori Gave Me $15m Bribe In Bag –Ribadu

wpid-ribadu.jpeg
Desperate to halt a probe into his finances, former Delta State Governor James Ibori tried to bribe anti-corruption boss Nuhu Ribadu in 2007 with $15m in cash in a bag so heavy one man alone could not lift it, Ribadu told a London court on Thursday.
Reuters quoted Ribadu as telling the court that he pretended to take the bribe because he wanted the cash as evidence to use against Ibori in a prosecution, but rather than keep the money for himself he had it taken straight to the Central Bank of Nigeria to be kept safe in a vault.
Ibori was governor of oil-producing Delta State in southern Nigeria from 1999 to 2007. In 2012, he pleaded guilty at London’s Southwark Crown Court to 10 counts of fraud and money-laundering and was jailed for 13 years.
He is the most senior Nigerian politician to be held to account for the corruption that has for decades held back Africa’s most populous nation and top oil producer.
Ribadu told the court that about $1 billion flowed from federal government accounts into Delta State coffers during Ibori’s eight years in power, and he estimated Ibori had stolen or wasted more than half of that amount.
The charges to which Ibori pleaded guilty amount to the theft of about $80m, but British prosecutors say that was only part of his total booty, which was kept hidden via a complex web of shell companies, offshore accounts and front men.
Ribadu, who was chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from April 2003 to December 2007, was giving evidence at a confiscation hearing in which prosecutors are seeking court orders to have Ibori’s assets seized.
Under Nigeria’s constitution, state governors enjoy immunity from prosecution but are limited to two terms in office. With the end of his second term looming in April 2007, Ibori was worried the EFCC were planning to prosecute him, Ribadu said.
“He was very desperate to terminate the investigation,” he told the court.
In late April 2007, a meeting was arranged between the two men at a “neutral place”, the house of Andy Uba, a close associate of outgoing President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Ibori arrived at the house with several members of his staff and a very large black sack containing $15m in cash. Ribadu said he watched as two of Ibori’s men lifted the heavy sack and handed it over to his own EFCC staff. “It was a bag that an individual could not carry alone,” he said.
The EFCC men drove the bag to the central bank where the money was counted and boxed into smaller containers. The court was shown photographs of the boxes of cash.

Amaechi, Okonjo-Iweala Disagree On State Of The Economy

Okonjo-iweala and Rotimi amaechi
Rivers State Governor and the Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, declared on Thursday that the Nigerian economy had gone comatose.
Amaechi explained that contrary to the rosy picture painted on Wednesday by the Minister of Finance and the Coordinating minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, about the nation’s economy, Nigeria was battling to survive economically.
Okonjo-Iweala had while responding to a call for her resignation by the Amaechi-led NGF told journalists in Abuja, that in spite of the revenue challenges facing the country, all macro-economic indicators showed that the economy was performing “reasonably well.”
“The economy is doing reasonably well. It is not perfect but it is doing reasonably well. I say this because actual realities on the ground are bearing this out,” she had said.
But at an event organised for future leaders by Rotary International, District 9140 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Amaechi recalled that the minister once disagreed with him when he said that poverty rate in Nigeria had risen to 70 per cent.
The governor, who also flayed his Delta State counterpart, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s advice that opposition against President Goodluck Jonathan should not come from the South-South, stated that Okonjo-Iweala had insisted that the country’s poverty rate was not 70 per cent, but 68 per cent.
He said, “In 1970, the poverty rate in Nigeria was 30 per cent. How many of you know the poverty rate now? I was in a meeting where I said it was 70 per cent; the Minister of Finance said it was 68 per cent. What’s the difference between 68 and 70?
“We are giving you a nation that is in a state of coma; that is what we are handing over to you. If it is a nation that is progressing from 30 per cent in 1970, we should be talking about 15 per cent now.”
Amaechi also explained that the Federal Government had yet to pay fully the Rivers State allocation for July, 2013.
“We (NGF) asked the Minister of Finance to resign if she is not able to manage the economy and she replied that ‘I dey kampe’. As of now, we (Rivers) have yet to receive in full the federal allocation for July.
“How strong is an economy that cannot fund its statutory state governments’ federal allocation? Our entitlement as Rivers State Government in July was N19bn.
“They have paid us only N14bn. The Central Bank of Nigeria published receipt of N1.05 tn in July; so, why did they say that there is no money? If we receive N1.05tn by July, why are they saying there is no money?
“Let me paint our image; corrupt and poor leadership. These are what you are coping with. We produce oil and yet,we are one of the poorest nations in the world. Are we not?
“Which nation would allow a Commissioner of Police like (Joseph) Mbu to continue to be a Commissioner of Police other than Nigeria, Iraq, Syria? So, you see our peers? Syria, Iraq, Pakistan.”
On Uduaghan’s remarks that opposition to Jonathan should not come from the people of South-South, Amaechi pointed out that he considered national interest far above regional or any other interest.
He expressed dissatisfaction that those fighting a just cause were constantly maligned, adding that Nigerians suffer from their refusal to ask questions when necessary.
Amaechi said, “Let me start replying him (Uduaghan) from here. First, I am a Nigerian. The reason why you have South-South, South-West, South-East, North-West, North that, is that in Nigeria, what you have in leadership is a wreck culture.
“I would have brought you a book from Kenya titled, ‘It’s our turn to eat.’ In Nigeria, it should be what? Now, the reason why you have this South-West, South-East, North-West, North this, North that and all that, is that you have a wreck culture where all we care about is how to share the till.
“So, South-South has shared for four years; how many of you have benefitted from the sharing for four years, raise your hands, how many of you? None. How many of you passed through the East-West Road, how was the road?
“And our President is from the South-South. So, do you see why I should support the President? So, the basic rule is that none of us should oppose our President if you are from the South-South; that is what the man (Uduaghan) tells us.
“When you are principled in Nigeria and you stand on your principles, what do they call you? They expect you to compromise at a point but when you refuse to compromise, you are a very stubborn man.”
He, however, appealed to the youth to arm themselves with education to revive Nigeria as he expressed sadness that the country’s poverty rate had risen to a level where many Nigerians hardly get enough to eat.
“Now for you as young men and women, we present you a nation that is yearning for repair. For me, the nation does not only need repair, it requires change.”
He explained that his administration introduced free education in the state to afford everyone, particularly poor parents the opportunity of sending their children and wards to school.
Earlier, the District Governor of Rotary International District 9140, Dr. Charles Oniawan, said Rotary was uniting people from all nationalities and backgrounds.
Oniawan pointed out that the programme was designed to give the youth the necessary leadership skills to serve humanity.
When contacted, Okonjo-Iweala insisted that the Nigerian economy remained strong.
In an emailed response through her Special Adviser on Communications, Mr Paul Nwabuikwu, she said, “In spite of challenges such as the recent revenue shortfall, this country is paying her bills, financing roads, rail, power and other critical infrastructure and even saving for the rainy day.
“So the position that the economy is in dire straits is simply not supported by available evidence.
“The committee on tackling oil theft chaired by Uduaghan is making good progress on securing the key Nembe and Trans-Niger pipelines and hopefully the shortfall will be significantly reduced soon and things will improve even further.
“We are happy that Nigerians are generally supportive of the efforts of the government to strengthen the economy and improve their welfare.”
