Davido Denies Being Arrested In Budapest For Possesion Of Fake Currency

So yesterday, word went round that Davido, his brother Adewale Adeleke and his manager Kamal Ajiboye had been arrested in a club in Budapest, Hungary. Over some fake Euro currency they used in paying for drinks. According to the story, Davido and show promoter Osariemen Ekiudoko Frank had some issues which led to Frank's refusal to pay Davido his balance. This supposedly led to Davido being stranded in Budapest as he missed his flight. So, he had to spend another night in Budapest. Then he and crew decided to go to a party with fake euro notes, given to them by the show organizer only to get arrested by Hungarian police. They were reportedly later on able to get released, then they took off for Paris. Story, story, story. Well, according to Davido's management, Davido didn’t get arrested. And here's the official statement they sent out to tell their own version of the story. It has come to our notice that some unscrupulous rumour peddlers have chosen to malign Davido’s hard work ethic and reputation.  Davido has been on his European tour for a few weeks and landed in Budapest, Hungary on Friday June 21 for his Budapest stop. He was met with what is perhaps the worst case of unprofessionalism from a promoter in his career as a touring artiste. The promoter in this case is known as Mr Frank of BLACK DIAMOND ENTERTAINMENT.   To the dismay of his management, the agreements on Davido’s ryder were not met despite assurances written and verbal that everything was set.   Please note the following facts:   Against their agreement, Davido and his management were given a one bedroom suite to house them during their stay in Budapest.  The promoter had issues with the venue for the show. Up until the night of the performance, the venue had not been paid for and Davido’s management were informed that he might not be able to perform on the stage. This was finally sorted a few minutes to the show.   When it was finally time to perform, the promoter had not arranged for sound and Davido only managed the situation and decided to perform because of his fans that had paid to attend the concert.  A fight broke out at the club and the promoters did not arrange any form of security for Davido, it was the intervention of the venue security guards that ensured that he got back to his hotel room in safety.  Davido and his management did not receive any direct payments from the said promoter. Infact the promoter is yet to pay up in full Davido’s performance fees as agreed.  Davido and his management team catered to their every need while in Budapest from their personal funds Davido’s management wishes to state distinctly and clearly that Davido was not at any point arrested in Budapest, Hungary. He is currently in Paris, France where he is set to perform on the 28th and the 29th of June. Thank You

GIROUD To Be Demoted To A BALL-BOY If He Doesn’t Scores Up To 20 Goals Next Season – WENGER

This might come as a shock to some faithful Arsenal and Giroud supporters, but to some others they have been praying for this and expecting it to happen. Olivier Giroud a signing from french side Montpellier has spent one full season at Arsenal, to most Arsenal supporters the forward didn’t deliver as expected with so much critics from the likes of famous Arsenal supporters like Piers Morgan, according to him Giroud has kicked the air 3 times more than he has actually kicked the ball all season. The ending of last season was quite a joyous one for some Arsenal supporters as Giroud was shown a straight red card which kept him off the pitch for the rest of the season. source also leaked out a secret that Theo Walcott and Giroud had a serious fight in the dressing room over who plays the centre forward (No 9) role for Arsenal football club. It was believed that Arsene Wenger had so much faith in Giroud that he could be the next Thierry Henry at Arsenal, but however, in recent times after the plans to sign 11 Tahiti players, Wenger has come out openly to say that Giroud have to score 20 goals or more next Premier League season or else he would be demoted to a ball-boy in Arsenal football club. When reporters asked O. Giroud to speak on this, he said “last season was Bale the Monkey’s season, next season is mine, and I’m not scared of losing my place as the main centre forward for Arsenal”.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 22-year-old Babajide Bashorun, for allegedly kidnapping a female undergraduate of the University of Lagos, Akoka, and raping her.

Explosion In Lagos As Vandals Rupture NNPC Pipeline

Rescue workers at the scene | credits: Olatunji Obasa

There was an explosion in Lagos on Wednesday after vandals ruptured an oil pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation at Akinbo Island. We learnt that the culprits came to the jetty in three barges and canoes around 1am and ruptured the splash zone of the pipeline and siphoned thousands of litres of petrol into jerry cans and operated for hours undeterred.
However, around 4.30am, there was a fire outbreak and the pipe through which they siphoned the fuel as well as a canoe were engulfed in flames.
Our correspondent, who visited the area, observed that two security posts were located about 250 metres from the scene.
About 200 melted jerrycans littered the scene.
The Deputy Manager, Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, Atlas Cove, Mr. Banjo Olajide, said he could not say the quantity of petrol lost to the fire but added that petrol was usually pumped at the rate of 600 cubic metres per hour to Mosinmi Depot.
When asked what the PPMC had done to ensure that pipeline vandals were not allowed to operate in the area, Olajide said about 50 policemen and 47 men of the Nigerian Navy as well as operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps usually patrolled the area.
He said the agency had built watchtowers and police posts at the black spots near the pipelines’ right of way.
“We have two security posts and an observatory tower here just about 200 metres away. We have about 50 policemen, 47 naval personnel stationed here. Some NSCDC personnel also patrol the area but they are not here all the time,” he said.
Olajide said Nigerian Army engineers had begun the rehabilitation of the pipelines’ right of way from Atlas Cove and the area was not difficult for security agents to patrol.
Olajide said although oil distribution had been shut down temporarily until the affected pipelines were repaired, the incident would not lead to fuel scarcity.
“It will not affect the supply of fuel. After things have stabilised, we will continue to pump petrol. We will check for leakages and we will make more repairs if need be,” he said.
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, who cordoned off the area, said it could not be confirmed if there were any casualties.
The spokesperson, NEMA, South-West Zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, said, “The fire started at midnight between 1am and 4am. On getting there, we could not move too close because the fire was intense. However, the fire was put out around 10:48am.
“We did not see any corpses and we cannot say if anyone was injured. We however recovered a 16mm hose used by the vandals as well as parts of boats used by them
“Over 200 damaged kegs were also recovered. Cooling and pegging process has commenced.” [Punch Metro]

2face Idibia set to go back to school, Annie Idibia Cries (photo)

Yeah, that's 2ace Idibia's wife, Annie Idibia crying out her heart on a movie set, who broke her dear heart....
Meanwhile, 2face Idibia in a recent interview with Sam Umukoro disclosed that he intends going back to school soon to study law!
And that wasn’t all he talked about, he further talked about how he handles his women and kids, his deal with Blackface.

See excerpts below:

  • SUI: Your relationship with women has been a topic of controversy. Someone once posted on Facebook that, ‘after six kids, Tuface is now married now, can he be faithful?’… How do you feel about such questions?
Tuface: The day I decided to go public was the day I gave my privacy away. It’s only natural – if you put yourself out there – that people are going to say different stuff, even when it’s not true. You laugh if you hear the funny ones; you are surprised when you hear the malicious and wicked ones. But what people think about you is none of your business, it’s their business. So, na their headache if dem dey worry. I just look at it and say, ‘okay oh, na you be the police na’ (laughing). I just try my best to be a good person, you know.
  • SUI: You don’t see yourself as a player?
Tuface: If I were a player, they wouldn’t have caught me like that (General laughter)
  • SUI: How challenging is the role of being a father to your kids?
Tuface: It’s not easy. Sometimes, it is painful, especially when you don’t get to see them as often as you would wish to because of work. Today I’m here, tomorrow, I’m there, sometimes for weeks, months; plus the fact that they have different moms… I didn’t plan for it this way, but it happened and I have accepted it, no shaking. My plan was to have a wife and then have children. Something happened along the line, but I didn’t run away from it.

  • SUI: Why did it take you so long to finally settle down with Anne?
Tuface: I don’t really have an answer to that question, because I don’t know. I can’t explain why I don’t have an answer to that, but somehow, by the grace of God, we are still together.
  • SUI: You once told me that you would like to go back to school to study law, do you still have plans to do that?
Tuface: Yes, I want to do that. I can’t say when exactly, maybe in the next two or three years? But I’m definitely going to do that.
  • SUI: When you first started out, did you honestly think you will get to this level, did you ever dream of this kind of success?
Tuface: I will say yes. Everyone wishes to take his game to the highest level, but what you don’t know is how fast or how long it would take to get there, but you definitely have that dream of getting there. So I had a dream of becoming a successful musician/ artiste. I hoped, worked and prayed for it and I’m getting there.
  • SUI: There has been a lot of controversy about who wrote your hit song, the evergreen ‘African Queen’. Did blackface actually write the lyrics, as some claim?
Tuface: The song was written by Innocent Idibia and Austin Amedu; Innocent Idibia is Tuface, Austin Amedu is Blackface.
  • SUI: So, who should get credit for the success of African Queen and did you know it was going to be monster hit at the time?
Tuface: The credit goes to… Tuface, Blackface; OJB, for production; Kennis Music, for marketing; the credit goes to all them and also the fans, especially my Nigerian fans.

Nigerian actress, Laide Bakare, who has been enmeshed in a paternity mess with two men, has finally reacted to the claims by her estranged husband, Olumide Okunfulire, that he would challenge her for a DNA to determine the true father of her new baby. .

In an interview with a popular Lagos gossip magazine, City People, Laide Bakare claimed her ex-husband must be “mad and oozing from chronic drunkenness’ for him to have ask her to do a DNA to know who the father of her new baby truly is.

“Ordinarily,” the actress stated, “I would not believe all the stories of him saying those rubbish in the media,” she said.

Laide Bakare further observed that, “maybe he was being pushed to say those things by those who know nothing about how we lived together or, maybe, they just want to put him in a big trouble.”

She said that if truly Okunfulire asked for a DNA, then he “must have gone mad and must be oozing from chronic drunkenness.” Laide dared her ex-hubby to “go ahead if he really meant it but I’m sure he has run mad.” #jst saying

Mandela On Life Support

wpid-Nelson-Mandela-360x225.jpeg

South Africans lit candles outside the hospital where anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela lay last night as an official who had been briefed in detail on his condition reported the former president was on life support.
Considered the founding father of South Africa’s multiracial democracy, the 94-year-old Mandela has been hospitalised since June 8 for a recurring lung infection.
Authorities have described his condition as critical since Sunday. President Jacob Zuma said earlier Wednesday that Mandela’s condition remained unchanged, South Africa’s national news agency reported.
After visiting Mandela late last night, Zuma canceled his visit today to Mozambique where he was supposed to attend a summit on infrastructure investment, the presidency’s website said.
South African government spokesman Mac Maharaj told CNN that officials are unable to comment on reports that Mandela was on life support, citing doctor-patient confidentiality rules. In a statement issued late Tuesday, the government said Mandela’s doctors “continue to do their best to ensure his recovery, well-being and comfort.”
