Kunle Afolayan dropped as a Glo ambassador for working with Etisalat's Saka...

Prolific movie director and actor, Kunle Afolayan was recently dropped as a Glo ambassador (for the likes of Waje, Omawumi, MI and co) and even though the reason wasn't revealed, new findings claim that he was dropped because of SAKA - Saka the actor and new MTN ambassador (Afiz Ayetoro).

Prior to him being dropped as an ambassador, Kunle had a smooth relationship with the company and did not go against any terms in his contract and was really shocked at his termination.
According to Linda Ikeji, Kunle Afolayan was booted out when Globacom found out that one of the main characters in his Phone Swap movie (which was sponsored by Globacom) was Saka, an Etisalat face for many of their brands, at the time. (Before he ported to MTN ). Globacom sponsored the movie and when it eventually came out and they saw Saka in it, that was it!
Yet Saka is presently soaring after his big hit with the MTN Port advert, lol...

Please don't reduce my Worth - Saudi prince sues Forbes for libel because they said he was only worth $20billion in magazine's Rich List

A Saudi prince is suing Forbes magazine for libel because it said he
was only worth $20billion in its annual rich list instead of
$30billion.

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, one of the world's richest businessmen,
claims the magazine underestimated his wealth by £9.6billion when it
placed him at 26th in this year's list.

Being listed as worth $29.6billion would have placed him in the list's top ten.

Alwaleed accused Forbes of 'flawed and inaccurate, displays bias
against Middle East investors and financial institutions' in an
interview with the Sunday Telegraph in March.

The prince has now brought libel action against the magazine's
publisher Randall Lane and two journalists in the High Court in
London, reports the Guardian.

He will claim that the Rich List caused serious harm to his reputation
and to his company Kingdom Holdings' finances.

His company Kingdom Holdings controls investments including stakes in
Apple, Facebook, Twitter and Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

His property includes the Savoy Hotel, the Plaza in New York, the Four
Seasons hotel chain and a stake in the owners of London's Canary Wharf
complex.

Forbes calculated the prince's wealth based on the value of his known
investments instead of Kingdom's share price on the Taduwal, the Saudi
stock exchange, it said.

The prince told the Sunday Telegraph: 'I am not pursuing it because of
my wealth, but because they are accusing Saudi Arabia of being
manipulated because we have no casinos. This is unacceptable.'

A spokesman for Forbes told the Guardian: 'We're very surprised at
claims that Prince Alwaleed has decided to sue Forbes, particularly if
he has done so in the United Kingdom, a jurisdiction that has nothing
whatsoever to do with our recent story which raised questions about
his claims about his wealth.

'The Prince's suit would be precisely the kind of libel tourism that
the UK's recently-passed libel reform law is intended to thwart. We
would anticipate that the London high court will agree. Forbes stands
by its story.'

MailOnline has approached the prince's lawyers Kobre & Kim for comment.

This is Omotayo reaction towards the online comments following her
recent interview...

Alicia Keys opens up about her initial dislike for husband Swizz Beatz when they first met

They are one of the music world's golden couples, supporting each
other through their careers and helping to raise two-year-old son
Egypt.

But it seems that things weren't always so rosy between Alicia Keys
and Swizz Beatz, as the superstar has admitted that she found him
'annoying' when they first met.

Speaking to Marie Claire, the 32-year-old opened up about the couple's
long journey to romance, while posing for an ethereal new photo shoot.

But after years of knowing each other, and not quite managing to work
together, the pair found themselves in the studio, and a relationship
soon followed.

'I fought tooth and nail,' she said, admitting that she originally
didn't want to work with him. 'Finally though, we did it and we had a
ball.'

'I think we've taught each other a lot,' she said. 'He's taught me how
to live more fully and I've taught him how to live more deeply.'

The singer also admitted that she struggled with the negative
attitudes of people close to her during her rise to fame.

'There might have been people in my life who, now, when I look back, I
realise were kind of insulting or abusive - verbally or emotionally -
or just not supportive,' she said.

Speaking about her beloved two-year-old son, the singer says ' never
gets grouchy or grumpy. He has a great disposition.'

The Girl On Fire singer poses in a number of show-stopping gowns for
the shoot, looking provocative in a sheer grey chiffon piece on the
cover.

In another shot she's pictured wearing a floor-length leopard-print
dress, cinched in at the waist with a buckled belt, paired with gold
stilettos.

I am ready to claim my place back at Chealsea-Essien

Michael Essien says he is ready to claim his place in the Chelsea team having rekindled his love of football under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid. The Ghana international linked up with his former manager, whom he jokingly calls 'Daddy', at Real Madrid last season having made only 10 starts for the Blues during the previous campaign. However, with the return of the 'Special One' to Stamford Bridge, Essien is keen to re-establish his Chelsea career having rediscovered his spark whilst on loan in the Spanish capital. 'If you ask me if I am back to that level then honestly I say yes. I have got my energy back and I feel I can do a job for the team again. It was important for me to play a lot of games and prove my fitness' said the former Lyon midfielder. 'Now I have, I am happy to play wherever is best for the team. I have got two years left . I have not spoken with Jose about my future yet so I will see if he wants me. When Mourinho wants me to do a job for him, I will do it.' Having played under a host of different managers since Mourinho's Chelsea departure in 2007, Essien firmly believes that the former Porto and Inter Milan boss is the right man to push the club on. 'He is a great manager and everybody is happy to have him back. Jose is the right man to take the club forward. It is good for him to be here and we will see what happens.'

Despite Eight years trophyless- Gazidis reveals he wants Wenger to agree new Arsenal deal

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has confirmed he wants Arsene Wenger to extend his contract beyond the end of next season. Wenger's current deal expires next year and he has been in demand from other top clubs, not least in his native France, where Paris St Germain and his former club Monaco are rich from overseas investment. There were rumblings of dissent among supporters at the Emirates last season leading to speculation that the 63-year-old Frenchman might seek a fresh challenge after what will be nearly 18 years at the club, but Arsenal's chief executive expects him to stay. 'We think we have got a fantastic manager,' said Gazidis. 'We hope he wants to do what he is doing for the long term. I believe he does. I think he is still ambitious, still driven and sees the potential of the club as he looks forward and I think he is very excited by that. 'We have a great relationship and he has a great relationship with the board. So, quietly and at the right time I think we will make an announcement on that when things are all put in place. 'We have got a lot of confidence in Arsene that he is the right person to take the club forward and I think he will want to do that. This is going to happen very quietly behind closed doors, privately and then there will be an announcement.'  Wenger joined the Gunners in October 1996, winning the title in his first full season and qualifying for the Champions League in every year since but he has not won a trophy wince Arsenal won the FA Cup in 2005. 'This is a club that has had remarkable consistency in terms of its manager, football philosophy and support from the board and our principal owner for the manager,' said Gazidis. 'It is pretty much unmatched, through some difficult periods as well. So if it is consistency players are looking for, Arsenal would be a very attractive place to come.' The Gunners finished last season in fourth, 17 points behind champions Manchester United. They were embarrassed by Bradford and Blackburn in the domestic cup competitions and beaten on away goals in the Champions League by eventual Bayern Munich. There has been dissent among some sections of the fans, who believe it is time for change at the club. 'We want to be competing at the top of the game and in order to do that you have to be in the Champions League,' said Gazidis. 'So we are pleased to qualified, or at least, for the qualification games. But it is not ultimately where we want to be with moving the club forward. 'We want to be a club that is competing at the very top end of the game and that means competing to win the Premier League and competing to win the Champions League. On that basis, we are not where we want to be yet. 'It is not idle ambition when we talk about wanting to get there. I think we have a very solid plan that will give us the ability to be able to compete at that level provided we do things well.' The board insist the club will become more financially competitive having secured lucrative sponsorship deals for their shirts and the stadium and a new deal for Puma to take over from Nike as kit suppliers next year. 'The stadium move has meant we have tied in a lot of our commercial deals to it which has put us behind the game,' Gazidis added. 'The critical thing now as we look ahead over the next season and the season after is our developing financial capability which will give us a lot more options than in recent years. 'We think we have got a fantastic manager who has seen us through moving to a new stadium, which is for many clubs a difficult period, and who is the right person to make the kinds of choices and decisions that we are going to have over this really significant period of the club's development. So we are feeling very optimistic. 'The club is on a good path. We have been through a difficult and in some ways disappointing season which ended satisfactorily. But we are not crowing about that. We are looking ahead and to how we can push forward.

Senate Rejects Patience Jonathan’s 4 Billion Naira Request To Build First Ladies House

The Senate has rejected the N4bn appropriated for the construction of
the First Ladies Mission in Africa.

The Mission is being headed by Nigeria's First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
The amount was proposed in the estimate of the Federal Capital
Territory's, FCT, 2013 budget appropriation.

This was as the lawmakers appropriated N259.65bn with a surplus of
N48.71bn for the FCT 2013 statutory budget.

This year's budget is less than that of 2012 fiscal year, which was N306.41bn.
The senators described the financial allocation for the construction
of the secretariat in Abuja as a misplaced priority.
The lawmakers said that the N4bn would be distributed for the
provision of infrastructure and meet the pressing needs in satellite
towns.

The senators also explained that they disapproved the allocation
because the land upon which the proposed secretariat would be sited is
currently under litigation.
"We cannot appropriate for a land that is not available," they added.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had ruled that the land proposed by the
FCT Ministry for the first ladies' building belonged to an
organisation owned by wife of the late President Umaru Yar'Adua, Turai
after a protracted legal battle.
A breakdown of the appropriation report, presented by the Senate
Committee Chairman on FCT, Senator Smart Adeyemi (PDP Kogi- West)
showed that N48.6bn, representing 18.7 per cent, was approved for
personnel costs.

Also N50.58bn, representing 19.5 per cent, was for overhead costs
while N160.46 representing 61.8 per cent was for capital projects for
the 2013 fiscal year.

A further breakdown of the budget indicated that the total recurrent
expenditure stood at N99.18bn, representing 38.2 per cent while the
entire budget stood at N259.64bn.
Adeyemi urged his colleagues to consider the budget because of time
constraints since a lot of work needs to be done in the ongoing year.

He said the committee, in carrying out its oversight duties,
identified critical areas for development of the territory and ensure
improved standard of living for its inhabitants.
"The committee jostled with the budget estimates, deploying funds to
meet areas of critical needs like roads, water, health, education and
development of satellite towns within the territory, city maintenance
and cleaning, recreational facilities, construction of rehabilitation
centres, agriculture, transportation, security services and
rehabilitation of ECOWAS Parliament Building", he said.

Adeyemi said his committee noted that the performance of the statutory
allocation in 2012 was only 43 per cent, saying most of the projects
earmarked for the year were still ongoing due to what he referred to
as "overbearing ineptitude of getting the Due Process Certificate".
"It was further observed that new and ongoing projects were not
sufficiently funded due to delay in the release of funds occasioned by
bureaucratic bottlenecks," he added.
Senate President David Mark, who presided over the session, said that
the nation's capital had not lived up to expectation, stressing that
the administrators must urgently sit up.

According to Mark: "The FCT is supposed to be a model town, a model
capital city, and having passed this budget, we expect that the FCT
will be a model capital city where everything functions, where we must
get all the roads to be okay.

"I think there isn't enough satellite development going on. And so
there is a lot of congestion in town. Street lights are not working,
the streets are not being kept in very good condition, the gardens and
lawns are not being maintained. I think there are a lot of areas where
FCT has to work very properly."

The Senate President advised the relevant Senate committees on FCT to
carry out oversight functions with a view to repositioning the area.
"This is where we have to employ your oversight functions, our
responsibility, to make sure that things work properly," he said.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives for the umpteenth time
yesterday, shelved the proposed amendments to the 2013 Appropriation
bill referring it to a joint committee.
The House made the referral to its Committees on Judiciary, Justice
and Business and Rules after considering a Constitutional Order raised
by Hon. Yakubu Dogara

Dogara in his Order, warned that the passage of the proposed
amendments by the President would be in serious breach of section 81
subsections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the constitution.
He also told the House that contrary to the section, the said
proposals from the Presidency could not be defined and therefore had
no place in the litany of legislative items the Green Chamber should
consider.

He also argued that instead of bringing forth a supplementary budget
at this time, the President was bringing in the same proposals he
earlier presented before a joint session.
Section 81(1) states that: "The President shall cause to be prepared
and laid before each House of the National Assembly at any time in
each financial year estimates of the revenues and expenditure of the
Federation for the next following financial year."

Dogara's objection had overwhelming support among members of the House
leading to a summary referral of the proposed amendments by Speaker
Aminu Tambuwal to the committees.

The House also took on a bill proposing that 40 per cent of Nigeria's
annual national budget must be dedicated to capital projects over the
next 10 years through the second reading.
The sponsor of the Bill, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who led debate on the
Bill, said that 70 per cent of the annual budget is allocated to
recurrent expenditure while a paltry 30 per cent was allocated to
capital expenditure for the last 10 years.

According to him: "This bill has the capacity to affect the lives of
Nigerians and that of our constituents. The intention of the bill is
to fund capital projects for the next 10 years, because this will
stimulate our economy for the good."

He explained further that even the 30 per cent capital projects
allocations were not properly utilised as shown by official
statistics.

In supporting the bill, Deputy Leader of the House, Hon. Leo Ogor,
said there was a need to determine the mechanism and manner with which
funds could be appropriated and applied.
The Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. John Enoh, said
that in the last several years, the Executive has had difficulties in
trying to bridge the gap between recurrent and capital expenditures,
hence the need to fix a percentage for infrastructure development.
Hon. Patrick Ikhariale and Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, however kicked
against the bill, arguing that the constitution was very clear on the
role of the legislature in appropriation of funds and the House would
be going contrary to its provisions in making the law.

CHEALSEA'S NEW KITS

Jose Mourinho is back at Chelsea but there will be a distinct Real Madrid look about his side next season in the form of their new away kit.

Lewandowski's agent Cezary Kucharski recently admitted: "Yes, Robert will join Bayern this summer," and now the player has heavily hinted at a switch to the Allianz Arena.

"We have been in agreement with the (new) club for some time now," Lewandowski told German sports magazine Bild. "I have informed the people in charge (at Dortmund) and I assume that all will now be cleared up and I can join the club of my wish this summer."

Gunners begin summer clear out as Arshavin, Denilson and Squillaci all depart.

Arsenal have confirmed Andrey Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci will leave the club on the expiry of their contracts at the end of this month.
All three were expected to depart the Emirates this summer after dropping out of the first-team picture under manager Arsene Wenger.

'Andrey Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci will leave the club when they come to the end of their contracts on June 30, and Arsenal would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their contribution and wish them well for the future,' a club statement read.
Russia international Arshavin arrived in north London to considerable fanfare in February 2009 after proving instrumental in Zenit St Petersburg's victorious UEFA Cup campaign in 2007/08, and then impressing an even wider audience with his displays at Euro 2008.
The 32-year-old forward went on to make 144 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 31 times, including all four goals in Arsenal's thrilling 4-4 draw with Liverpool at Anfield in April 2009.

Arshavin's star quickly waned, however, and he was eventually farmed out on loan back to Zenit at the end of the 2011/12 campaign. He was welcomed back into the Arsenal fold ahead of last season but went on to make just 11 appearances in all competitions.
Brazilian midfielder Denilson, 25, leaves after 156 appearances for the Gunners between 2006 and 2011. He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Sao Paulo.
France defender Squillaci, 32, departs three years after joining from Sevilla, during which time he made just 23 league appearances.

33 Year Old Sugar Mummy Strangled To Death In Lekki By Her 27 Year Old Lover Boy

Homicide detectives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos have launched a man-hunt for 27-year-old Victor Chukwuemeka Udenze from Urunebo village, Enugu-Ukwu, Anambra State over the murder of his 35-year-old lover, Ms Bianca Ndidi Okoye.

Victor was alleged to have killed his Sugar Mummy, Ms Bianca, during a hot argument inside her apartment in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, over "money related" fight...

Elder brother of Ms Bianca, Emeka Okoye, told Crime Alert that in a desperate move to cover his act, the suspect, Victor, went away with her phones, laptop, documents and disconnected every link between him and Bianca on the social media, facebook.

Narrating the circumstances that surrounded the death of their sister Emeka Okoye said, “that fateful night on the 10th of May, 2013, our sister, a mother of two from Ogidi, Anambra state, returned to her apartment in the company of Victor, a male friend whom she had been seeing for some time before the incident. Both of them went into the deceased bedroom.

"Before she slept off that night, the deceased teenage daughter identified as Onyinye said she heard noise and exchange of threats between her mother and Victor but did not enter the bedroom, as she thought it was some private matter that would be resolved amicably, after which she slept off. Their neighbours also reported that they heard Bianca’s shouts at night but did not enter her apartment as they equally did not envisage it would lead to her death.

“It was in the morning of the next day 11th of May, 2013, that one of the neighbours asked the deceased children after their mother, to which the children said she was still asleep. The fact of Bianca’s death however dawned on them, when her children were begging their neighbours for money to enable them eat."

Begging for money
"Their neighbour’s suspicion was compounded when the children further told them that they were begging for money because their mother had been sleeping since morning. This prompted them to go over to the deceased apartment, and opened her door, only to see Bianca lying on the bed, stone dead.

"The neighbours said they tried contacting us but apart from her children living with her, they did not know any of us. However, one of them identified as Philiper saved the day because she has the GSM number of one of Bianca’s friends identified as Chioma. She contacted her and she in turn was asked to contact any of us to come and carry her body.
"That was how we were able to know what happened and when we came, we discovered that her killer was on the run.”

Speaking with Crime Alert, Chioma, late Bianca's friend, said she could not believe what she heard, because it sounded like a rude joke. This made her to place a call across to the suspect, Victor, as she has his phone number.
According to Chioma, immediately the suspect picked her call, he hurriedly asked her if any of her friends had called her. She reportedly asked him why he was asking such question and he said it had to do with the deceased, Bianca, whom he had problems with. In shock, Chioma shouted, “so it is true you have killed Bianca, you will pay for it”, and immediately, Victor switched off his phone.

Crime Alert learnt that the case was reported at Elemero police station, and policemen came from the station and took the remains of the deceased away. Autopsy carried out on Bianca’s remains revealed that she died as a result of strangulation.

The family of the deceased told the Police that a few days after the incident, the deceased documents were seen littered on a street in Enugu, Enugu State, and they don't know how the documents got there.

You may wish to know that the late Bianca Ndidi Okoye was married, but separated from her husband, and was having an affair with Victor, until the time she was killed.

10 Celebrities Who Should Have Their Own Reality Show (And we’d Actually Watch Them!)

Reality TV is inundated with people who became famous for their reality TV show, but what about all the relevant celebs who are already famous? The ones whose lives are constantly forced down our throats in tabloids, blogs, and entertainment shows? We think many of their lives would make excellent premises for reality show, and with that in mind we’ve compiled this list.
Find out which celebs we think should have their own reality show. We’d watch them, too!
Genevieve Nnaji: Between her alleged bitter relationship with Omotola Ekeinde which has since been settled, to the music which she embarked upon but failed to continue, her efforts in trying to keep the paparazzi away from her daughter and her love life which no one is exactly certain about, there would be no shortage of drama on the Geneveive Nnaji show!
Wouldn’t you want to know how she spends her time, what she does when she is not tweeting and posting photos to her instagram page and when she is not on movie sets - sounds fun! Wouldn't you want also want to find out if she's still friends with Dbanj?

Psquare: Apart from the fact that we want to see how they actually relate with their baby mamas and hang out, we want to see how they spend their day as brothers. Though we already get a feel of how they spend their day via photos on instagram but it' not as entertaining as actually watching them. We want to see them carry out their musical tours, performance at concerts, how they act back stage before and after the concerts, how they have fun and actually fight etc.

We wanna see what she does when she is not online, watch her do what she knows how to do best - blog and the best part is watching her approve the so many comments on her blog - the facial expression when she sees the negative comments and the smiles when she sees cool comments and how she actually laughs.
We want to see if she actually cooks by herself, how she hangs out and yes watch her fall in love if she hasn't already have...so much for her world of blogging – The Linda Ikeji Show of life!

Goodluck and Patience Jonathan: Sarcastically, President Goodluck Jonathan has already made himself more accessible to the public, but what could be more intriguing then getting a glimpse of the first Nigerian First Family interacting on a daily basis inside the Aso rock. Seeing Jonathan in his element, peeking into his and Mrs. Jonathan’s inspiring romance; watching Nigeria’s biggest decisions unfold before our eyes in a much more personal fashion than just seeing them in the news and learning that the person running our country is just like you and me. We’ll call it The First Family.

Sexy Toolz: If Toolz had a reality show today, we will so watch it - almost  everyone would because everyone loves Toolz.  We want to know how to spends her time when she is not a radio or presenting on Ndani Tv plus her new relationship with Tunde Demuren of the EME, we want to see them go on dates and talk. Wouldn't' you want to see how she eats to stay in shape, or see her argue – (no one outside her cycle of friends has probably never seen her argue).

The Mavins show: Wouldn’t you want to watch Don Jazzy, D Prince, Tiwa Savage, DR Sid and Wande Coal feature in a reality show?! We envision a reality show documenting their different lives as songwriters, siblings (DPrince/Don Jazzy), mixing and recording in the studio and adjusting to the different rumors of them that surface online everyday… love birds ( Tiwabillz), and how they plan for their wedding with the crew, wouldn’t that be so lovely?  Don’t pretend you’re not interested in the secret inner workings of the crew.

The Idibia family: The family that stays together…stays together. The idibia family seems to be one of the rare celebrity family that actually do everything together, and seem to enjoy each other’s company.  Theirs would be one of the more wholesome reality shows on - with 2face’s passion for music, Annie’s movie roles and Issabella’s blanche to do whatever she pleases – We’d love to see Annie make 2face handle all the menial tasks like cooking her dinner and taking care of Isabella sometimes.

Davido O.B.O: We’re not sure there’s much of a demand for him on TV; but then again, a “Omo Baba Olowo TV” show might be just the ticket to humanizing the good-guy-gone-bad in the public eye. With the show, we would get to actually watch Davido carry out the charity works he claims he loves to do, and watch him live life in the “Omo baba olowo” way and how he handles the many girls that flock around him.
Wizkid: Who doesn’t love Wizkid?! Watching the Star boy show is something we would actually love – watching Wizkid compose his songs, prepare for concerts, and more importantly spend time with Tania Omotayo whom he often publicly declares his love for twitter and instagram, wouldn’t you want to watch?
